Dear friends,
We would like to invite you to the 2026 European Championship, which will be held in Jehnědí, Ústí nad Orlicí district, LETKA-Jehnědí airport 21.6.-26.6.
The event is organized by the Spolek leteckých modelářů Litomyšl in cooperation with SAM 78, SAM 95 and with the help of local authorities. There will also be a significant contribution from the Pardubický kraj. We competed twice at the beautiful Czech Heaven airport in Ivančice, so we decided to try something new and different. We will try to create a homely and pleasant environment for everyone, just like last year in Italy, where we all left with only the best impressions.
The start will be on Sunday, when the roads are quieter and you will have an easier drive. Don't worry about bad roads, because from Prague you can drive on the D11 highway all the way to Vysoké Mýto and then on a decent regional road to the airport. Just a small warning that almost every village in the Czech Republic has a radar and municipalities strictly enforce fines.
The airport has its own clubhouse, where good Czech beer will be on tap for 1 Euro and we will also prepare some soft drinks. Those interested will be able to buy lunches. There is also a small pool at the airport for refreshment, but we are in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains, so we recommend not forgetting something warmer to wear. We will also open a campsite for tents and caravans, we just need to know the number of visitors in advance.
There is plenty of accommodation in all surrounding towns, except Litomyšl, where the Smetana's Litomyšl opera festival takes place. Jehnědí is in the middle of beautiful nature, surrounded by historical towns such as Litomyšl, Vysoké Mýto, Ústí nad Orlicí. These towns were founded in the mid-13th century and, for example, the history of Litomyšl goes back to the 10th century. If you have a free day, you can go for a walk around the area, there are also hundreds of kilometers of cycling routes.
We look forward to seeing you
On behalf of the committee
Květoslav Štorek

Long square with arcades, Piarist church, monastery gardens, beautiful castle. The international opera festival Smetana's Litomyšl is held here every year. The praline shop has Belgian pralines better than in Belgium and lunch at Hotel Aplaus is a great experience. After lunch, don't miss the wonderful ice cream at the Croatian place.
Discover Brandýs nad Orlicí with its unique natural labyrinth made of hornbeam. Visit the romantic Devil's Gorge with a metal footbridge, baroque castle with park, Church of the Ascension of the Lord, and walk along the network of marked hiking trails through the picturesque Tichá Orlice valley.
Historic town with a beautiful church and large square with a unique rectangular layout. Founded in the 13th century by King Přemysl Otakar II
Home to one of the world's largest bus manufacturers. The town won the Historic Town of the Year title in 2022 and offers many cultural events.

Enjoy a modern water park with a water slide and Kamikaze slide. Nearby you'll find the ruins of Lanšperk Castle, Andrlův chlum lookout tower, Museum of Crafts in Nový dvůr - the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic, and dozens of kilometers of marked trails for hikers and cyclists to the Orlické Mountains.
I recommend the cycling route Choceň-Česká Třebová or Choceň-Letohrad. Choceň has a rich cultural life, many sports activities and traditional food production. The Orlické Museum contains a unique paleontological find - the remains of a pterosaur.
Beautiful views of Czech and Polish inland, lookout towers such as Velká Deštná or Suchý vrch, and the picturesque Jirásek's Ridge Trail, 170 kilometers long. In the foothills, castles, châteaux, military fortresses and the Pastviny Dam on the Divoká Orlice River await you.

THANK YOU, IT WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU.
Jehnědí Airport is a private airport founded by a group of enthusiasts after the fall of communism. The first Saturday in September, an ultralight aircraft fly-in is held here with around 200 aircraft. Which is exceptional even today. The airport was built from own resources without subsidies!
